Here at SAYiT we are hosting a number of events in May that we would like you to get involved in!
2 May there is a Free: Sheffield Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) Forum with a focus on transgender young people. This event is aimed at professionals wanting to improve the SRE for young people across Sheffield Schools and Services.
13 May we are holding an Open Day for SAYiT Friends and Allies to celebrate the work we do but also to engage with people who would like to volunteer with our charity. Everyone is welcome! to Scotia Works at Leadmill Road to find out about our fantastic projects and work, visit our stalls, view our film, register to volunteer with us or just come and see what we do. Bring your friends and family!
17 May is an opportunity to learn about supporting trans young people on a nationwide level at the Trans Awareness and Inclusion Training Workshop. The training has been designed to give professionals nationwide an insight to help understand the key terms, language, laws, identities and experiences of trans young people. As well as the interaction between trans identities and mental health. It will give you an opportunity to learn how to support trans young people effectively. This will include improving their mental health. In addition to thinking about how your organisation, and/or your own practice, could be inclusive and supportive.
The workshop is at a cost of £130 which includes the training delivered by a specialist consultant, course material refreshments and lunch.
