Conference: Developing Future LGBT+ Leaders

Leadership is about developing skills, knowledge and self-awareness; about feeling empowered to take action in one’s own life; and about positively influencing one’s environment. Building strong youth leadership is core to creating communities where all LGBT+ youth and students can thrive and feel empowered.

This conference has a range of keynote speakers and workshops to enable workers and parents/carers to reflect on ways to support young people to become leaders in their own lives and be role models for others.

Topics include:

• Keynote Speaker: Ruth Hunt, Chief Executive, Stonewall

• Young People’s Voice

• Coaching and mentoring LGBT+ young people and Creative Thinking

• Emotional Regulation

• Leadership through the Arts and Theatre

• Presentation of SRE research with young LGBT+ people

• Launch of Sheffield Trans Schools Pack
