SAYiT youth worker Vinnie describes the success of our first Youth Pride Fayre.
On 1st August we ran our first Youth Pride Fayre. It was a market style event where young people were able to sell their artwork to the public. There were carnival attractions happening such as a Hook and Duck and Whack the Rat, where young people could win raffle tickets. Lots of different youth groups came and brought their own young people who all had a great time.
I was really proud to organise it and give young people the opportunity to show off and sell their artwork! Another talented young person in attendance was Ezra (@ezrabyphotos) who captured some colourful images of the event.
We were really pleased to welcome various other charities and organisations to hold stalls at the event. These included Sheffield Youth Voice & Influence, SRASAC, Healthwatch, Gamcare, The Corner, RNIB, The Hangout, Gendered Intelligence, Sexual Health Sheffield, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, Chillypep, and Sheffield Futures.
