Feb Half Term 2013

This Year for February Half term, SAYiT decided to launch the first of many of its ‘Holiday Provision’ timetables.

The week opened with a 6 mile hike in the beautiful Peak district. Mud, snow, blisters, but more importantly… laugh aplenty! On Tuesday, we were fortunate enough to be able to learn some football skills thanks to the trainers at the ‘Kickz Project’. Wednesday brought us to Sheffield Millennium Galleries where thanks to Steve Slack, we learnt about local hero, Edward Carpenter and the charitable trust that strives to keep his memory and aims alive.

half term 2Whilst there we made Edward Carpenter themed bunting which we intend to donate to the ‘Friends of Edward Carpenter’ trust. Thursday took us to The Centre for HIV where we had an interactive session discussing healthy relationships and the importance of healthy choices. On Friday, we held a Make, Bake & Create session – our Young people made some delicious chocolate treats and created some inspiring placards for the upcoming IDAHO event on 17th May. Finally, as chosen by our Young people, we went to LaserQuest and did battle against in other – Great fun! This was followed by a fantastic lunch at a nearby Italian restaurant. A Super week!!
