Yambo has recently had 4 new referrals and are now meeting weekly on a Friday as well as offering a monthly Saturday social. We are working on an animation project with the group every Friday. Our volunteer animator is Charles ,who is a university student. We are delighted to have him and are working towards a resource that can be used in the community with a message from our young people about HIV.
Yambo will be attending Sexual Health and Relationships Camp and will be participating in Sexual Health and Relationships sessions and having fun in Castleton in between. We are currently looking into delivering a 10 week beginners swim course in partnership with Sheffield International Venues at Ponds Forge for the young people as this is a life skill they would like to learn. Please get in touch with Rachel if young people from any of the other groups are interested. It will be on a Fridays from 4:30pm starting at the end of November or beginning December – to be confirmed!
With World AIDS day in December we will soon be looking at ways in which Yambo young people would like to get involved. Rachel is currently undertaking training so that she can deliver the C-Card scheme and testing through the Sheffield Open Doors service of which SAYiT is a part.
